Cook Islands Finance, the government agency tasked with promoting and developing the financial services industry within the Cook Islands, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming 19th Annual International Estate Planning Institute in New York on the 14th & 15th of March, 2024.
The International Estate Planning Institute – co-hosted by the New York State Bar Association and STEP New York – gathers industry leaders, legal experts, and financial professionals to discuss the latest strategies and developments in international estate planning.
“Asset protection is our specialty in the Cook Islands. As a country, we’ve been in this industry for 40 years – and as such, we have experienced trustees and practitioners here, some of which have been operating since the offshore industry began in 1984.” stated Tony Fe’ao, CEO of Cook Islands Finance.
“This rich history underscores the Cook Islands’ role as a leading provider of trust and fiduciary services on the global stage.”
The conference will serve as a platform for local industry partners to market their companies, fostering growth and collaboration within the Cook Islands trust industry.
“We are pleased to have 3 of our locally-based trustee companies joining us in New York at this year’s conference. Asiaciti Trust, Southpac Trust and Trustees & Fiduciaries Cook Islands have a long history of administering trusts on behalf of HNW individuals and families in the United States,” added Fe’ao.
Cook Islands Finance will also be featuring the International Relationship Property Trust (IRPT) at the conference. The IRPT is a new and innovative tool designed to provide couples with increased certainty as to how designated property is to be managed in the event that they separate.
“By sponsoring and attending this Conference, Cook Islands Finance aims to raise awareness around the IRPT’s potential benefits and showcase its advantages in safeguarding and managing relationship property during significant life events,” said Fe’ao, who will be present at the conference and overseeing the Cook Islands Finance exhibition table.
