Flying the Cook Islands Financial Services flag in the USA

The Cook Islands Financial Services Industry will feature at the upcoming ABA Fall CLE Family Law Conference in the United States.

Cook Islands Finance is a proud Silver Sponsor of this year’s event, which will be held at the Omni in Louisville, Kentucky. As Silver Sponsor, the Cook Islands will host a booth in the exhibition area as well as have an opportunity to address conference attendees at 2 plenary sessions.

Cook Islands Finance CEO Mr Tony Fe’ao will be joined this year by Mrs Tine Fa’asili Ponia, General Manager at Asiaciti Trust Cook Islands as well as material from trustees in the Cook Islands.

As a global leader in trust law and asset protection, Cook Islands Finance will be promoting the wealth planning and asset protection tools available to HNWIs and their advisors.

The ABA Fall CLE Family Law Conference is also an opportunity to market the International Relationship Property Trust, an innovative trust instrument that was designed the best interests of the family in mind.

“The problem I saw was that matrimonial courts keep expanding the grounds for bringing trust assets within their jurisdiction, as well as applying the principles of dividing and distribution of those trust assets irrespective of the proper administration of a trust.” Stated Mr Reuben Tylor, Founder and Director at Trustees & Fiduciaries Cook Islands.

“Trust law was simply not keeping up with developments in matrimonial property law, let alone the increase in the divorce rate. There was a need to bolster trust law to empower couples to decide how their assets might be treated in the event they separated at some time in the future.”

The conference is sponsored by ABA Section of Family Law, a global network of lawyers, associates and law students dedicated to serving the field of family law in areas such as adoption, assisted reproductive technologies, custody, divorce, and military law.

It is a sub-section of the American Bar Association, the largest voluntary association of lawyers in the world.

The conference runs over 3 days key topics including approving a surrogate, writing ironclad pre- and postmarital agreements, custody trends and Assisted Reproductive Technology and adoption.
