Cook Islands Finance Strengthens Presence at STEP LA Forum

Trustees & Fiduciaries Cook Islands Ltd, in partnership with Cook Islands Finance raised the Cook Islands flage at the 17th Annual STEP Los Angeles International Tax & Estate Planning Forum—held on June 5–6, 2025, at Terranea Resort

With over 350 private-client advisors, legal experts, trust officers and international fiduciary professionals in attendance, there was a lot of interest in the Cook Islands world-class asset protection solutions.

Terai Boaza and Noovai Aspris of Trustees & Fiduciaries Cook Islands attended the conference, fielding enquiries at the jurisdiction’s exhibition booth. With many in the room familiar with the Cook Islands, there were plenty of discussion on how the Cook Islands asset protection trusts could work in conjunction with other planning tools such as trigger and bridge trusts.

Sessions on cross-border taxation and the nuances between domestic and international asset protection trusts (APT) were of particular relevance, highlighting opportunities for Cook Islands practitioners to further contribute to the conversation.

Tony Fe’ao, CEO of Cook Islands Finance, underscored Los Angeles’ ongoing strategic value.

“Los Angeles, with its concentration of referring attorneys familiar with the Cook Islands is a key market for Cook Islands Finance. STEP LA provides us with the opportunity to reconnect with existing advisers and engage with new ones, ensuring our jurisdiction stays top-of-mind.”

The Forum proved invaluable in reinforcing relationships, provided new connections, and reaffirming the Cook Islands’ reputation as a premier jurisdiction for trust and estate planning.

Cook Islands Finance will return to the United States in October as a key sponsors for the annual STEP Miami Summit.
